Port Aventura, the Absolute Must during your Summer Holidays!

If there is something you cannot miss during your camping summer holidays, that is a day at Port Aventura Theme Park. The park is divided into different themed areas, which are Mediterranea, Polynesia, China, Mexico, Sesamo Adventure and Far West. Here, you will find amusement for all your family! The park is also located right in the centre of Costa Dorada, which grants easy access to it.

Each area of Port Aventura World is inspired and decorated in the fashion of different cultures, with rides which cater for everybody. You may watch the following video so that you can get to know a bit the park beforehand and have an idea of what awaits you! Here we also provide a link to the map of Port Aventura:

Port Aventura and its Rides for Adults

If there is one iconic ride in Port Aventura which represents it, that is Dragon Khan. This coiling giant has been and still is the image of the park since its creation. Year after year, new rides have been built to widen the range offered. One of these was Hurricane Condor, which simulates a free fall and gives your, for a few seconds, a complete view of Costa Daurada, its sea, its beach and all the park’s surroundings. Apart from this, you cannot miss one of the most recent additions: Shambala, even bigger than Dragon Khan. And for those who need an even more thrilling experience, you can now enjoy Ferrari Land and its Formula 1 themed area and its incredible 112m high rollercoaster.

Port Aventura and its Rides for the Youngest in the Family

The park also offers rides for all ages and tastes, but there is an area especially dedicated for the youngest at home. This area is Sesamo Aventura, a place where you will be able to play with Epi, Blas and all the Barrio Sesamo Characters. Besides, the rest of the areas also offer specific rides suitable for children such as Tomahawk, a small rollercoaster in the Far West.

Port Aventura Shows

Port Aventura Theme Park does not only offer rides, but also a wide selection of themed shows in each of its areas. You will be able to find from magic and acrobatics in the Grand Chinese Theatre, to cowboys and shootings in the Far West, and shows with exotic birds and traditional dancing in Polynesia. An incredible world awaits to be discovered!

During special dates throughout the year, such as Christmas, the park is decorated in red and white, with special shows for the occasion!

To round up your magical day, at night all adventurers gather at Mediterranea, where there is an amazing fireworks display! You cannot miss this unique experience! Please watch the following video so you can see for yourself!

What do you Need for your Day at Port Aventura?

In order to prepare your day, we really recommend you to start with a good night’s sleep. The park is very big and, although it is possible to visit all of it in one day, we are convinced you will probably be worn out by the time you reach your bungalow at the end of the day. Apart from this, we would also like to give you the following tips:

  • Parking at Port Aventura: the park offers various fee-paying car parks in its precincts. Nevertheless, if you arrive early, you may find free parking space along Avenida Pere Molas (Avenue), Vila Seca. But beware: you must arrive really early!
  • Purchasing tickets for Port Aventura: if you have bought your tickets for Port Aventura at your campsite or hotel, you can directly access the park and skip the ticket queues. If you still do not have them, we really recommend you to arrive early since there may be long queues.
  • Eating at Port Aventura: it is not allowed to enter the park with food. In exchange, the park caters for all customers with a wide range of food and drinks offered throughout the entire park. For instance, one of its restaurants, ‘La Cantina’, offers Mexican food. If you prefer, you can also rest at ‘Racó del Mar’, in the Mediterranea. Furthermore, you will be able to find small establishments were you can buy fast food and drinks along the way. Please, follow this link to know all the restaurants at Port Aventura.

Seasonal Timetables

If you would like to know Port Aventura’s timetables, we recommend checking the park’s website where you will be able to find all the timetables for each season of the year. It is important to notice that the park is closed after the first week of January until Easter. Because of this, it is advisable to inform oneself before visiting one of Costa Daurada’s Campsites or resorts.
