The Costa Dorada encompasses 13 towns, stretching some 92 kilometres and offering 60 beaches of all kinds, from small coves at Mont-roig del Camp Miami Platja, to the cliffs of Torredembarra, to the iodine-rich area of Vendrell Comaruga, to the fine sand and shallow waters at Salou, and even nudist beaches such as those found at Torn de l'Hospitalet de l'Infant.
Many of the Costa Daurada’s beaches have been certified with the European Education Foundation’s “blue flag," in addition to receiving other recognitions such as the distinction won by Creixell for its disabled-friendly beach, granted by the aforementioned entity; the Ecoplayas Award for clean and sustainable beaches; and ISO 14001 certification for environmental management on the beaches of Calafell. In the area of such recognitions, the towns of Calafell, Salou and Cambrils are also certified by Catalonia's Regional Government as quality family tourism destinations.
