In Terres de l’Ebre there are ten beaches and two marinas that boast about this recognition. Thirty-four marinas and beaches of the Costa Daurada also exhibit this distinctive award this year, 2016. Campsites, a unique combination for family holidays with kids

Different-size and appealing swimming pools, sport areas for all ages, playgrounds, bicycles you can use as your personal vehicle to discover a brand new world around you… This is a small universe set in a monitored, safe and open space that provides teens with a certain independence, –making them feel proper adults, of course!– as well as parents, with total quietness. Campsites offer families with kids a unique combination for their holidays.

Of course, children do always get along pretty well, and a relation that begins with a bit of shyness in the early stages ends up become a proper friendship, even after holidays… And, as it happens, tears appear when it’s time, inevitably, to go back home. This is why many decide to give another go; this is reason, loyalty families develop towards a given destination. Campsites are a small paradise for their kids.

Swimming pools and water sports are ideal to rehydrate skin after long sunbathing days, but also work pretty well on creating the perfect refreshing and entertaining solution. Besides, endless football games, which appear to have been inspired by Captain Tsubasa; exciting expeditions out of and into tents to let parents know they’re not just happy, but having the time of their lives; workshops, shows and activities… and those high-speed dinners, while friends are waiting for them to pop out back again. And night games!

Then, when it’s time to explore the world beyond the campsite with the family, they find that, just a few miles away, there are 2 outstanding theme parks known as PortAventura Park and PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park; or some pretty amazing golden-sand and gentle-slope beaches that carefully merge with the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea of the Delta; or a proper natural inland area with dream villages; and original festivities and traditions you just have to see for yourself.

All in all, makes campsites such a magical and special location for families with kids, and a unique combination for the best holidays ever.

Costa Daurada and Terres de l’Ebre, a small paradise for cycling lovers

Circular routes of different levels; placid rides that suitable for the entire family; tracks located in amazing sceneries by the coastline; outings following paths that go through historical spots; reused rail trails that provide eco-friendly trips… Costa Daurada and Terres de l’Ebre are a small paradise for cycling lovers, with a wide and varied offer in itineraries, both inland and by the sea.

Very near your favourite campsite you’ll certainly find a route that will take you on a number of adventures, while doing sport riding your bicycle outdoors in permanent contact with nature. You choose the perfect level for you: go on a peaceful ride with the family, partner or yourself; or, if you feel like pushing yourself a bit more, find a more demanding and exciting one.

If you choose the first option, a quiet and easy ride, Terra Alta provides several BTT routes on a rail trail that will definitely suit your requirements. Dozens and dozens of miles following old railways –currently unused– that have been turned into plain and confortable paths. We strongly recommend stretch near Xerta and the one between Horta de Sant Joan and Benifallet.

If you’re near Tarragona, you can add history and heritage to these pleasant routes. For example, find a circular route round Arrabassada beach, which is very easy, and it takes around 1,30h; it will take you historical locations such as Fortí de la Reina, the river Francolí, the Ferreres aqueduct (aka Pont del Diable) or the Llorito caves. You can also follow the tracks that go from Tarragona and Torredembarra, or discover Ermita del Peiró hermitage.

However, if you think the above-mentioned route is a bit too short and you’d like to push yourself a little bit more, how about the fantastic “Ruta dels Masos de Tarragona” route? And, heading inland, in the Alt Camp region to be more specific, you can cycle along old farm tracks that merge with clear paths and steep slopes.

Those seeking for an even more demanding and exciting route will find the perfect routes too, like the Tarragona-Prades-Tarragona route, or the track existing between Horta de Sant Joan and Alfara de Carles, with B-road stretches and bits of steep trails and tracks.

So there you are: very near your campsite, find a true cycling adventure to suit every single level. Enjoy your ride!

What size should a family camping tent have?

Are you thinking about your next holidays but you don’t have a camping tent just yet? We’ll provide 5 great ideas on the following post, so you get the perfect camping tent for some pretty unforgettable holidays.

  • Firstly, identify the way the tent will be used and what size it should be. Let’s not forget, it should be comfy for hours, no matter the weather.

  • Secondly, you should ask yourselves what kind of holidays you’re looking for. If you’d rather spend a short period of time, that it, two or three days, or even a weekend, you should get a tent that is both very light and easy to set up. However, if you’re willing to spend a long period of time on holidays, you should go for a tent that has a wider habitable area, with plenty of storage space for our camping tools and equipment.

  • And now, do you know how many people are you taking with you? A tent’s capability is yet another factor to consider when buying yours. If you’re going on a long holiday, we’d like to suggest tents with opposite rooms, and day and night areas.

  • What would be a fair price? Quality should be a key factor. Our tip: buy a tent with a minimum of quality, so the investment really pays off.
